March 20, 2013
Although we here at THG wish the late March weather would be a little warmer, the temperature is still high enough to melt away all of the snow! With all of the snow melting, there is a major increase in held ground water and water seepage into your basements and crawl spaces. Not to worry! This is completely normal for this time of year. If your house has a sump-pump system, give it a look to see if it is working correctly. If there’s standing water filling the pit and overflowing, it’s not working!!! Call our maintenance line and we will send someone out to fix it. If your basement has taken some water and there is no sump pump, grab a broom and sweep the water down the nearest floor drain; it won’t take up much of your time.
